Never have I heard an engine sound like a V8 and V6 simultaneously. It has an all-business V8 burble, accompanied by a faint buzzy V6 tone once the revs get high. What car is this you may ask?
A 1986 Buick Century 2.8L with a muffler delete. 125 hp cannot sound any better.

Sounds a bit like a less deep 4.3.

The 2.8 was always a shockingly great sounding engine. I drove a Fiero GT with one, got on it hard as I could, sounded like it was flying...and I was going 35.

The GM 60* v6 takes a lot of crap. It’s really a stout engine with proper care and feeding.
There’s a video of a built Citation X11 out there that sounds like a lopey small block at idle.

My Celebrity sounded that good after the muffler stopped muffling.

That mid-range burble at 9:30 specific to GM V6s is my fave. Always thought it’s awesome when a W-Body Grand Prix pass by with that note.

In some ways it sounds like a Detroit Diesel 2-stroke like you might find in a garbage truck or old school bus. I love that sound...
